Steven
Hatter
Steven D. Hatter is an Air Force civilian employee working at the Alaskan Command Headquarters at Elmendorf Air Force Base in north Anchorage. He recently retired from the US Air Force as a Colonel after 26 years of service where as a fighter pilot, he flew the F-4 Phantom and the F-15E Strike Eagle. Over his career, Steve served in various key command positions to include fighter squadron command and leadership at the group command level. He also served in key staff positions at the Pentagon and most recently at Alaskan Command. Steve is a combat veteran of Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, and Operation Enduring Freedom. He came to faith in Christ while deployed to Iraq and Saudi Arabia in 1990. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with Masters degrees from Troy University and the Naval War College. He is currently pursuing an additional Masters degree in Project Management at UAA.
Steve and his wife Cynthia met almost thirty years ago at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee. The Hatters are blessed with five children: Drew, 24; Scott 21; Caitlin 18; Matthew, 15; and Amy 9. Drew Scott, and Caitlin are all Grace Christian School graduates. Drew is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, Scott is a senior at the United States Air Force Academy, and Caitlin is a freshman nursing student and Army ROTC Cadet at California Baptist University. Matthew and Amy attend Grace Christian School, and Cynthia serves on the GCS staff as the exutive Assistant to the GCS Administrator.
This family loves the Lord and desires to serve Him daily. Steve has served on the Elder Board for five years at Anchorage Grace and recently lchaired the Senior Pastor Search Committee. |
