OUR
NURSERY
We consider it an honor to care for your child as you worship
with us today. It is our desire that every parent who comes to
our church nursery feels God’s comfort and safety through
the ministry of a loving staff.
PHILOSOPHY
Children are never too young to begin experiencing the love of
God and sensing they are a part of the body of Christ. The early
years are also important in forming a child’s first impressions
of church. The church nursery desires to provide a loving, nurturing,
secure and clean environment for infants and toddlers. It is our
goal to show them the love of Jesus, help them find coming to
church a pleasant experience and to care for their needs while
they are there.
We also want parents to feel comfortable leaving their precious
children in the nursery. In this way they will be able to enjoy
time away from their children in other areas of the church where
they can grow, be blessed, and bless others.
NURSERY HOURS
The nursery is available to infants and toddlers for all church
services and many church-wide events and activities. The nursery
will open 15 minutes prior to the beginning of a church function
and will promptly close 15 minutes after the event is over. Parents
are expected to promptly pick up their child, and all paging systems
will vibrate 10 minutes after service.
NURSING MOTHERS
The infant nursery is equipped with a television monitor so mothers
can watch church service while nursing their child.
DROP OFF PROCEDURES
Children must be checked in by an adult. If you are visiting for
the first time we ask that you complete an information card so
we may have a record of important information. Please complete
the numbered three part label and attach the large sticker onto
your child’s back, and the smaller sticky label onto your
diaper bag or coat. The remaining numbered stub will be used to
verify parent/child at the end of service. You will also be given
a vibrating pager. If you are needed at any time, your pager will
vibrate.
We understand that leaving your child in the church nursery can
bring separation anxiety. Hopefully, our two step security system
will allow you the peace of mind so you can focus on your study
or worship.
SICKNESS/ ILLNESS
We operate a well-baby nursery. For the protection of all the
children in our ministry, we cannot accept a child with the following
symptoms: fever, vomiting, discharge in/around eye, persistent
cough, green or yellow mucous, contagious or unexplainable rash,
diarrhea, Impetigo, active Chicken Pox, any other communicable
disease.
SNACKS
We offer Cheerios, graham crackers, and animal crackers during
snack time. Water is the only beverage served by our nursery staff.
If your child has food allergies, please inform us during the
check-in process.
DIAPERS
Diapers are checked regularly and heavy or smelly diapers will
be changed.
NURSERY PROMOTIONS
Our nursery is available to children from birth to 2 1/2 years
of age. Children will be promoted to the preschool class when
the child is ready for one hour of structured interaction. This
will be determined by the Nursery staff and the parents. Promotion
will be done three times a year. This is done to prepare curriculum
for the new student(s).
SPECIAL EVENTS
When the nursery is used for events other than Sunday services,
the same policies and procedures are followed. The age range of
the children cared for during each event can vary. A general guideline
will be children 4 and under.
PICK UP
When you return to pick up your child you must have your security
tag. For security purposes we will not release a child without
the corresponding security tag. When picking up you child from
the nursery please do not enter the enclosed nursery area, wait
for the child to be delivered to you. Many times children try
to leave the room, or become upset when they see the door opening
and shutting. Please be prompt when picking up your child. All
pagers will vibrate 10 minutes after service.
