Jamie Ferguson - Director of Children's Ministry
I was born July 14, 1965 in Santa Maria, California. When I was three my parents took our family on a major road trip that ended in Kenai, Alaska. I spent the following 19 years in Kenai, graduating high school from Kenai Central High School.
I was raised Catholic. When I was nineteen I left the Catholic Church and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I didn’t have support in my decision to accept Christ so for the next 9 years I struggled, not always making the best choices for my life. God, in His faithfulness, held me close during all my struggles, never leaving me. When I was twenty-eight I recommitted my life to the Lord. I placed my full trust in Him for every decision in my life and began seeking His will for my life. Soon after recommitting my life, God blessed me with a wonderful husband. John and I were married in Chugiak, Alaska on March 8, 1996. We have two terrific children, John Andre and Arianna.
I attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage and received an Associates degree in Human Services. I have worked as Nursery coordinator, Assistant Children’s Ministry Director, and Interim Children’s Ministry Director at other churches we have attended, and Elementary Secretary at Grace Christian School. I joined the staff at Anchorage Grace Church in April 2008. I look forward to the great adventure that God has in store for us all here at Anchorage Grace Church.
