Dave Parker
Dave Parker was born into a strongly evangelical Christian family living in the mountains of central California. He came to Christ as a child and attended Seattle Pacific College where he majored in Education and Biology. At SPC he met Margie Quirk and they were married in June of 1970.
After college, Dave and Margie began teaching in Washington State but were soon led to teaching positions in Yemen Arab Republic. There Dave sensed the call to ministry and they returned to Portland, Oregon to attend Western Conservative Baptist Seminary and minister on the staff of Temple Baptist Church.
Dave and Margie have two sons, Aaron (Seattle, WA) and Ben (Wasilla, AK) and 8 grandchildren.
After Seminary in 1980, the Parkers served as church-planting Missionaries with the Baptist General Conference in Ivory Coast and in France. Dave also served as the senior pastor of Margie's home church, Sylvan Way Baptist in Bremerton, Washington and as pastor of Bethany Christian Community in Anchorage.
Dave now works at Anchorage Police Department and Margie teaches at Grace Christian School. Dave carries on an active ministry at McLoughlin Youth Center and does itinerant preaching and pulpit supply. |
