Children’s Ministries

We recognize our children are going to form their first impressions of God and the local church through our ministry, so we want that picture to accurately reflect how awesome it is to have a relationship with God; our creator and creator of the universe.

Mission Statement

The Children's Ministry believes that parents are the primary spiritual influence in their child's life. We count it a privilege to come along side parents and help equip and support them in that role. We have incorporated a S-T-A-R-S approach to our Children’s Ministry Mission:

S- SHARE- Share the gospel of Jesus Christ with our children.

“So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.” Matthew 18:14

T- TEAM- Team with parents in laying a spiritual foundation.

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

A- ADVANCE- Advance the spiritual maturity in our children.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

R- REACH- Reach other children with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19

S- SERVE- Serve other children with the love of Jesus Christ.

“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving on another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1Peter 4:10

Nursery (Birth-2 1/2 years)- We transition babies from your loving arms to ours, introducing the church as a safe place to laugh, cry and grow.

Toddlers (2 1/2-3years)- At this developmental stage, we introduce kids to God’s story and let them experience it hands-on through Bible stories and play. Young children learn from interacting with the people and the environment around them. Our goal is to create an environment in which they are encouraged to discover and explore Bible truths and develop their relationship with Jesus.

4’s & 5’s- Through further story and play, kids learn God’s fundamentals and apply them to the decisions they’re making. We want them to learn that church is a place where everyone can belong and no one is left out. Our greatest desire is for them to know that God loves them and wants to have a life long relationship with them.

School-age (Kindergarten – 6th grade)- School-age children meet in smaller age appropriate classes. We aim to provide the building blocks for children to develop strong foundations to live God centered lives. This is done in a safe and healthy environment where children can flourish, grow and have a whole lot of fun along the way.

Children’s Church
- 4 years through 1st Grade - We begin with a fun, large group interactive setting to worship, pray and learn about God through teachings, drama and story. We close our time together with snack, craft and/or game time. It is our desire that children will discover how they can become “people after God’s own heart” by trusting, loving, praying, sharing, obeying, being patient, serving, repenting, believing, being faithful, and worshipping.

Family Worship: Children 2nd -6th grade will worship with their parents in Family Worship in the Worship Center. Children’s materials are available on the tables as you enter the Worship Center. 5th & 6th grade children can participate in the Helpers-In-Training Program (HIT).

Helpers-In-Training (HIT) Kids Program: This program is intended to challenge 5th & 6th grade children to deepen their walk with the Lord. During this six week course children will be instructed in basic doctrine, and trained to serve in different ministries in the church. Once they have successfully completed the training course they will be scheduled to serve every other month. On the months the children are not serving they will attend family worship in the Worship Center.

Route 56 (Reaching Out Unto The Earth): Route 56 is a Youth Group for 5th and 6th graders. This program is intended to teach our children to reach out into their community to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We meet on Sunday's, bi-monthly from 3:00-6:00pm. During this time we pray together, have a Bible lesson, complete a service project or fun activity, and grow together as a family of God. Check the Children's Calendar for a complete schedule of events.

Wednesdays at Grace

6:10 PM

The mission of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. To accomplish this mission we provide:

* Clear, consistent presentation of the gospel.
* Bible memory- our cornerstone.
* A fun approach to learning God’s Word.
* Leadership training that is second to none.
* The church leaders of tomorrow trained to serve today.
* Evangelistic focus designed to reach un-churched youth and their families.

Cubbies (3-5 years)

The AWANA club for preschoolers is built on two premises: young children can and should receive spiritual training. Home is the primary place for spiritual training.

Our preschool program meets these needs through:

* Fun- and lots of it!
* Friendly characters and leaders
* Foundational teaching
* Family involvement

Sparks! (K-2nd grade)

The AWANA club for children in Kindergarten through second grade builds on the material taught in our preschool club. The aim of the curriculum is to take youngsters a step deeper into God’s Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at the preschool level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Christ as their personal Savior while in Sparks.

Truth & Training (T&T) (3rd-6th grade)

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of AWANA to teach third - sixth grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow, today.
