Jesus said
to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the
first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You
shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)
Therefore,
we will:
Love
God…Love the Believer…Love the Lost
Based on this
commandment we make this purpose statement:
We exist for the glory of God and for God’s salvation of
man. We do all that we do in response to the grace and mercy of
our Lord. We accomplish our purpose in three distinct ways.
By
Exalting (a Sovereign-driven worship)
We accomplish this through abiding in Christ and submitting to
God, prayer, the preaching of the Word of God, orchestra, praise
team, choir, Light Company Children’s Choir, personal testimonies,
cheerful and sacrificial giving, baptism, and the Lord’s
Supper.
By
Equipping (a servant-driven work)
We accomplish this through abiding in Christ and submitting to
God, prayer, appointing Elders and Deacons, fellowship, Grace
Christian School, home school support, children’s church,
biblical counseling, the development of spiritual gifts, all-age
Bible studies, strengthening marriages and parenting, youth ministries,
care groups, training teachers, prayer chain, men’s and
women’s ministries, Awana children’s ministry, and
facility.
By
Evangelizing (a salvation-driven witness)
We accomplish this through abiding in Christ and submitting to
God, prayer, salt and light ministries, personal witnessing to
all of those around us, financially supported missionaries, personal
mission involvement.
We believe
God has called us to focus on reaching our surrounding community
as a discipling church, training Christians to become leaders
who will be transforming influences in the world.
At Anchorage
Grace, we are concerned with church health, as well as church
growth. The early church met with gladness and sincerity, willingly
serving one another from a heart filled with the life of Christ,
and the Lord added to their number (Acts 2:46-47). Our vision
is to produce spiritual growth through church health.
At Anchorage
Grace the congregation encourages every individual to press towards
the greatest achievement possible – to know Jesus Christ,
and to know Him intimately and personally. “That He would
grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened
with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may
dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and
grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints
which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness
of God.” (Ephesians 3: 16-19).
